My grandmother has always been an inspiration to me and encouraged me to work with my hands. She taught me everything I know about textile crafts, and making things together was also a way for us to spend time with one another. Sewing, knitting and weaving were all part of our shared time.

The sculpture Britt-Marie: a frosted cornflower-blue glass form with a knitted-stitch surface in wavy, layered folds, narrowing to a small glossy foot, on a pale peach backdrop.

This exhibition was created as a tribute to my grandmother and to all the women in her circle who shared this knowledge and tradition. They carry an enormous wealth of knowledge and craftsmanship, much of which is often taken for granted and undervalued.

Through this exhibition, I wanted to express my appreciation for the wisdom, skills and knowledge they have passed on and shared with me.
